This recipe, made with no sugar and whole-wheat pastry flour, is a tasty, wholesome alternative to the standard pie crusts.

Unbaked Pie Shell:
Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a mixer bowl.
Cut in margarine with a pastry blender or two forks until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the cold juice tablespoon at a time, mixing with a fork until the pastry is moist enough to hold together.
Divide dough in half. Press dough on bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Roll out the second half to place over the pie and filling.
Prebaked Pie Shell:
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Prick the shell with a fork and weight the bottom with a sheet of wax paper topped with dried beans.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool.

Use: 9-inch pie plate
Yields: 1 pie shell
